Discount information for public transportation facilities

Izukyu Corporation

Izukyu CorporationIzukyu Line opened in 1961 between Ito and Izukyu-Shimoda (45.7 km). Izukyu Line and JR Ito Line are link-up, and trains of each company run straight through both lines from the beginning. Now limited express "ODORIKOs" directly connects Tokyo and Izukyu-Shimoda every day.
The highlight of Izukyu Line is among others the dynamic view of the ocean from the train. You may feel that the vast ocean is just before you between Izu-Atagawa and Imaihama-Kaigan (about 10 km). In particular, the train runs along the coast between Katase-Shirata and Izu-Inatori where the sea spray is about to reach the train, and you may see Izu Seven Islands beyond the ocean.
If you take the train of Izukyu Line, we recommend our panorama-view train series "Resort 21." This is the joyful panorama train having three types of cars. The cars at both heads of the train are "Observation Car" in the theater-like seat arrangement, and the seats of the intermediate cars are facing the ocean, called "Sea Side Seats." Further, although the extra charge is necessary, we have the special car "Royal Box" in which the ceiling of car changes to "the starlit sky" every time the train goes through a tunnel. The "Resort 21s" are usually operated as ordinary local trains between Atami and Izukyu-Shimoda, so you can board "Resort 21" without any special ticket. Why not choose this economical but joyful train.
