Lake Kawaguchi (Fujikawaguchiko-machi)

This is one of the hottest resort spots in the Fuji Five Lakes area. There are many hotels and inns near Lake Kawaguchi and it is also a great lookout spot for Mt. Fuji. Take an excursion bus to get a nice tour of the area
There is a tourist information center at the Kawaguchiko station where information about the area is available in English.

Excursion Bus: Kawaguchiko Station --> Saiko Komori Ana (35 minutes)

Guided Tour of Aoikigahara Forest (Sea of Trees)

Start at the Saiko Bat Cave (Saiko Komori Ana) and loop around the Aokigahara Forest with a nature guide. This one-hour tour will allow you to experience the natural surroundings of Mt. Fuji.
Saiko Bat Cave Entrance Fee: 300 yen
Charge for Guide: 500 yen/hour per person

Saiko Iyashi-no-sato NENBA (Healing Village)

This facility is a recreation of a village with thatched roof houses and was once considered to be Japan’s most beautiful village. Some hands-on activities that you can try here include: blended incense making, paper making, pottery making, hanging hina doll decoration making, etc. At the restaurant, you can try some hand-made buckwheat noodles or a traditional course meal with locally-grown Konnyaku (alimentary yam paste). Entrance fee: 200 yen
There will be a separate charge for all hands-on activities.

Itchiku Kubota Art Museum

This museum exhibits the work of Itchiku Kubota (1917-2003), a textile dyeing artist who was fascinated by Tsujigahara-zome (a traditional Japanese dyeing technique which had mysteriously vanished 300 years ago) and devoted his life to developing his own dyeing method which he called “Itchiku Tsujigahana-zome”.
