At the Amagi pass, you will find the old Amagi Tunnel, which appears in Kawabata’s novel,“Izu no Odoriko”. The Kawazu river tumbles down from Mt. Amagi and branches into seven waterfalls, eventually running down to deep azure sea. Kawazu Town is famous as a producer of Japanese“wasabi” radish, carnations and irises, etc.
